It’s been five years since we saw the first concept and now the production version of the Lamborghini Urus will be available in the UK. This is Lamborghini’s first attempt at a modern high-performance crossover, and believe us it looks beautiful!
The Lamborghini Urus has astonishing performance thanks to its twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine. It’s actually the same engine that’s found in some of the other cars in the VW Group. Some of these being the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Cayenne Turbo. Like the Bentley Bentayga, Audi Q7 and new Porsche Cayenne, the Urus sits on the VW Group’s MLB platform.
Lamborghini says its biturbo V8 makes 650 horsepower and has enough power to send the crossover to 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 190 mph. Lamborghini is hoping to sell 3,500 units a year, and have confirmed that the new model will be available late summer 2018 and start from $200,000 approx £165,000.
The car will come with the standard Lamborghini Infotainment System, which controls the car set-up, media, telephone, and satellite navigation. This is controlled by the two screens on the dashboard. The top screen is the key interface for entertainment, managing functions such as media, navigation, telephone and car status information. The lower screen provides a fully functional keyboard and handwriting compatible screen for inputting information and controlling functions such as climate control and seat heating.
We look forward to seeing this almighty beast on the roads of Britain and who knows, the Big Car Buyer might end up getting one in stock!
